Here I have continued to explore photogrammetry and CAD modelling using the metal sculptures I made during semester 1 of this module.

Overall, I have enjoyed exploring the photogrammetry process and extending this exploration using other sources seemed to be the next step whilst at home. It gives a new dimension to my practice, skills and future work.

The exploration of using this software and my son as a model has been used to influence another creative project in my DES200 module. In this shared Integrated Creativity module, I worked as a collaborative team with 3 students from different subject disciplines in the Design programmes. As a team, and working towards a final installation outcome, the model was used to develop the project and to help visualise a face model, using projection mapping software.

It would be fantastic to extend all of this work further and see the mesh CAD models printed using a 3D printer at the design centre. I have had a short trial session using this technology previously.

Likewise, I would like to try another software to extend this work and skills, such as Autodesk Maya, a 3D animation, modelling and rendering software. I have never used this before and currently don’t have paid access but this may be available for use at the University.
