Post 14...Live Outcome... Semester 2

Deconstruct[ed]

Space, refers to the distances or areas around, between, and within.

Space can be positive or negative, open or closed, shallow or deep.

Sometimes, space isn’t explicitly presented within a piece, but the illusion of it is.

My work here explores the elements of line, shape and colour whilst producing works with a combination of geometric and organic forms.

My work revolves around the dialect of construction, with a focus and extending concern of space and form, using multi media.

Form and negative space are completely linked as essential to one another.

The work in my exhibition explores sculpture through a variety of spatial concepts.

Sculptural form usually defined as; mass, unbroken volume and gravity, are redefined in this exhibition as, fragmented, dispersed, mirrored and unfolded.

Overall, this semester, I have persevered throughout the disruption and overcame my original panic of changing my exhibition plans and work. Producing a body of work I am very proud of, and equally so to show on the Instagram Takeover.

I have also gained new computer software skills that will be invaluable going forward.

’Obsession is what it comes down to. It is difficult to think without obsession, and it is impossible to create something without a foundation that is rigorous, incontrovertible, and, in fact, to some degree repetitive.

Repetition is the ritual of obsession.

Repetition is a way to jumpstart the indecision of beginning. To persevere and to begin over and over again is to continue the obsession with work. Work comes out of work. In order to work you must already be working’.
