Sculpture and shadow...

Every shadow tells a story, cast shadows lurk everywhere in the visual arts and often slip by the audience unnoticed. My work here, effectively reassures the viewer that the shadow and object are sharing the same space. I wanted to represent the shadow of my wire face sculpture using the natural elements of the sun and wind, generated in real time. The shadow ‘deforms’ when the object naturally rotates. Additionally, the texture and shape of the sculpture can be seen as a ‘fuzzy’ form, alternating between light and dark as the clouds move.

The shadow here, as a stand alone piece, provides information that makes a representation engaging to the eye.
